Writing for children can be both immensely rewarding and endlessly challenging. What appears to be a deceptively simple ambition turns out to be an ever-changing puzzle – a landscape of 26 letters, arranged and rearranged into an assortment of words and images until you finally manage to piece together the best words in their best order.
